Blaqbonez releases his long-awaited new album, ‘Sex over Love’ on the back of the release of his trending new single, ‘Bling’ with Amaarae and Buju. The album is the artist’s first body of work since his 2019 release, Mr. Boombastic, which debuted at #1 on Apple Music’s Top Album Chart.
The project is fronted by Blaq’s viral hit single, ‘Haba’, which birthed the ubiquitous #StreamHaba social media campaign, and sports features from a number of high-profile artists including Nasty C, Joeboy, Tiwa Savage, Bad Boy Timz, Laycon, Cheque, A-Q and others. The project’s production was handled by household names such as Spax, DJ Coublon, Type A, Blaisebeatz, BeatsByJayy and Ten amongst others. The artwork for the album feature was designed by artist Anthony Azekwoh in his signature style.

At the start 2020, Lagos rapper Laycon only had one single to his name, the bouncy anthem “Fierce”, released shortly after he signed to indie label Fierce Nation Entertainment. His 2020 release Who Is Laycon? went viral during his time on television; ‘Big Brother Naija’. Who is Laycon? EP is the second EP by the young Nigerian singer/emcee. The Nigerian Afro-fusion singer and songwriter, Burna Boy, was born in Lagos. He started producing music when he was ten years old. After graduating from college, Burna relocated to London for university. After two years, he dropped out and moved back to Nigeria to pursue his passion. A creative by the name of LeriQ allocated studio space for Burna to record and produce. His father always listened to dancehall and reggae music. This is where his early influence and music style stems from. His grandfather experimented with Afrobeat music and even managed Fela Kuti. LeriQ and Burna produced a track titled “Prefer to Party” which initiated his rise to prominence on a national and International level. His debut studio album, L.I.F.E., received rave reviews and featured Wizkid, Timaya and more.

Adekunle Gold is an award-winning Nigerian highlife singer, songwriter, and graphic designer. AG Baby calls his music “urban highlife” because of its conscious intersections with contemporary pop, electronica, folk, and R&B. His debut solo single, “Sade,” in 2014, a cover of One Direction’s “Story of My Life,” set the radio stations of Lagos buzzing. Mixed by top Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simi he won an award for it at Nigeria’s Headies the very next year for Best Alternative Song. He got signed to Olamide’s YBNL label, and issued two Simi-mixed charting follow-ups in “Orente” and “Pick Up” before releasing Gold Album.
