The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has suspended issuance of three month visas to Nigerians.
A travels and tours firm, Afric Holidays, announced this in a terse statement through its Instagram page on Wednesday.
The statement read, “Nigerian Passport holders are no longer eligible to 3months UAE Tourist Visa.
“Nigerian Passport holders are now restricted to 1 Month, 96 hrs & 48 hours UAE Tourist Visas till further notice.”
The notice is coming two days after five Nigerians of Igbo ancestry were arrested for robbing a Bureau de Change operator of Dh2.3 million (app. N225.4 million) in Sharjai, Dubai.
Let’s think
5 boys left Nigeria to attempt to rob in one of the best policed society on the planet.
They couldn’t even google to understand how everyone that steps into UAE is fully profiled and monitored.
They didn’t have enough education to understand that stunts in American movies may not work in UAE.
They thought UAE whose  Passports has become number 1 globally attained that status by settlement.
We can’t reduce this to a tribal issue because the joke is on us all. These boys have taken our stupidity which has hitherto been local to a global scale.
I am tempted to wonder if they were cursed by someone they hurt to go attempt this madness or they were assured by a spiritual force that AI won’t be able to profile them.
The bigger issue for me in this is a feedback on our educational and parenting system. Everyday we celebrate latest cars and latest toys brought in by folks whom we all know have no visible source of livelihood.
We give them Chieftancy titles and we trend #smallboyBigGOD #smallgirlBigGOD
The god that gives something for doing nothing. The god that does it sharply and breaks protocol to promote a lazy man to become the TEO [thief executive officer]  of an unknown business.
We have become so consumed by what we get away with here that we assume every other nation has remained at our level.
Where are those parents who were bold enough to refuse to live in a house bought by a child whose income should never be able to afford a rented apartment?
Where are those families that would never celebrate a thief or bow to a man whose wealth is questionable? Where are those hardworking Nigerians who know what it means to earn a honest dollar and are wise enough to live within their means.
Where are those amazing lovers who don’t get into trouble because they want to impress a babe whose only value proposition is her body and where are those awesome ladies who would rather work hard to earn a pay than to bow to the affluence of a guy whose source of wealth they know is fraudulent?
This is a wake-up call for us all to take responsibility for misleading an entire generation by what we celebrate as success and what has become the portrait of our testimonies.
It’s a call to start to take a second look at what we credit to #bigGod. It’s a call to live out the values that stood us out way back.
It’s a call to effective parenting powered by parents who can lead in deeds and in words.
This disgrace is a Nigerian disgrace
Not a tribe or race
It’s our disgrace

ARTICLE : Lionel Messi the Genius

In a few years, when we have taken perspective of what Leo Messi is doing in the world of football, we can only continue to be surprised by this player capable of carrying a bicentennial sport, which already enjoyed a starsystem and a story of its own when he arrived, to another level. Because there is a before and after Messi in football. The reason, the lapse that occupies his professional career, which is currently on track to reach fifteen years without the passage of time makes a dent in Messi, who continues to invent in every game he plays, there is his lack of Panenka to Espanyol , and pulverizing brands, some of which had been in force for decades.

Until Messi debuted with Barcelona. Since that distant October 16, 2004, when Deco replaced and enjoyed seven minutes before, precisely, a Espanyol then aspired to get his assignment. Barcelona, of course, did not let go of him as soon as he confirmed that one of the strongest promises that the Masía had ever set foot on was already a reality despite being seventeen years old. Today, with thirty-one, beats a mark practically in every game he plays.

Two weeks ago against Betis equalized Andrés Iniesta as the second player with more official matches with Barcelona and on Sunday against Espanyol Iker Casillas reached as footballer with more victories in the league on the same day he was only fifty goals away from Pele, the greatest scorer of all time with the same shirt. At the moment Messi is in all possible scrubs when it comes to balmpedic brands

There are times when you fight with goalkeepers from other times, others do it against legends of the stature of the mentioned Pelé, Gerd Müller or Telmo Zarra, also competes with glories of Barça like Xavi Hernàndez and Iniesta, and also with Cristiano Ronaldo, with which he maintains the pulse as the historic top scorer of the Champions League, the only major record in which he dominates Portuguese. However, what Messi is another thing.
Because nobody, not even Ronaldo, has been ten years in a row scoring a minimum of forty goals per season. Not in vain Messi is also the only one to achieve five Golden Boots as top scorer in the major European leagues and the first to reach the five Gold Balls, although then the ex-Real Madrid managed to match him. This year, in any case, Messi can give the final blow on the table in case of reaching titles at the end of the season . Because it would happen to lead most of these rankings of blow and blow. And that is not Maradona, Pele, Cruyff or Ronaldo, nor the Portuguese nor “the real one”, as José Mourinho said, to equal it

ARTICLE : Man Utd have spent £700m to stand still & have 12 deals to do – Neville

The former Red Devils defender admits little progress has been made in the transfer market up until Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being handed the reins

Manchester United have spent £700 million ($914m) to stand still, says Gary Neville, with there now 12 deals for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to oversee as the Red Devils prepare for another transfer refresh.

The Red Devils have invested heavily in fresh faces since Sir Alex Ferguson headed into retirement, with the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku among those snapped up.

Big-money additions have failed to push the club back into Premier League title contention, with a top-four finish representing the height of domestic ambition once again in 2018-19.

Solskjaer, fresh from penning a three-year contract, is the latest manager to be charged with the task of delivering on expectation and piecing together challenges for major honours.

Neville admits there is a lot of work to be done at Old Trafford, both in and out of a star-studded squad, with it easy to argue that the new man at the helm would benefit from the presence of a director of football to help carry the load.

The former Red Devils defender told Sky Sports: “Over the last six or seven years, United have put £700m into that squad, and they’re still falling well short of where Liverpool and Manchester City are at the moment – they’re 16-18 points behind.

“So what you have to look at is how United bridge that gap, and yes they will do that through the spirit that Solskjaer has created, but they have to get better players on the pitch that can compete with Liverpool and City to go along with some of the very good players they’ve already got.

“United have a big, big job. There are four or five players that Solskjaer will want to keep that are out of contract and he needs to tie down. There are four or five players he will need to bring in, and there are probably four or five players that he needs to get out.

“If you think about that in terms of the job over the next two or three months, you’ve got probably 12 live situations; four players to sign new contracts, four players to get into the club, four players to get out for the most money possible.

“That needs a good ‘wheeler-dealer’ behind the scenes, someone who can manage that situation. United haven’t been brilliant at that in the last few years.

“I think that’s the big job. That’s not Solskjaer’s job, but it will determine the outcome of his success in terms of the future.”

The likes of Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar have been linked with potential directorial roles, with United continuing to look to familiar faces for inspiration after handing the managerial reins to Solskjaer.

They are expected to be busy again in the next transfer window, but it remains to be seen who will be involved in that process and how many voices will have an input before final decisions are taken
